New Honda Jazz Mileage – Autoportal.com says its second most fuel efficient model

Auto enthusiasts are all waiting for the launch of much-awaited premium hatchback Jazz from the house of Honda. On the 8th of July, the Jazz will make a comeback in the Indian market and will become the country’s second most fuel efficient model.

The Honda’s new ‘Exciting H Design‘ philosophy has worked wonders on the design. With the horizontally stretched headlamps, sleeker grille and new bumper with large air-vents, the front fascia of the car looks completely new. This generation looks like a proper hatchback. At the rear, the new tail-lamps with metal inserts and new bumpers look good.

The physical dimensions of the Honda Jazz are 3900 mm length, 1695 mm width, 1535 mm height and 2500 mm wheel base. The 2015 version will be 60 mm longer and will have 80 mm added wheel base to make the cabin comfortable. The suspensions are the McPherson strut type at the front and the torsion beam axle at the rear. The boot volume expected is 430 litres which can be increased by folding the fully foldable rear seat.

The new Honda Jazz gets a 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine that already powers the Amaze and Brio, and can generate power of 87 bhp with a torque of 110 Nm at 4,800 rpm. The 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel motor generates 100 PS of power and 200 Nm torque. While the petrol model, which would employ either a 5-speed manual or a CVT with paddle shifters, is tuned to give an ARAI rated mileage of 18.7 kmpl and 19 kmpl respectively, the diesel model is expected to clock a mileage of 27.3 kmpl with 6-speed manual transmission.

The New Honda Jazz Mileage is where the Jazz will outsmart its rivals. The Jazz’s diesel version is much better than that of the Maruti Swift and Hyundai i20 that promise 22.9 kmpl and 21.27 kmpl, respectively. The mileage figure of Honda Jazz is about 8% higher than its City sedan. It is also interesting to note that New Honda Jazz is the first in the Jazz line-up to come with diesel engine.

The transmission will be 5 speed manual and the car may take 11.2 seconds for 0 to 100 kmph acceleration.

The unofficial bookings for Honda new Jazz are underway in the country across the company dealerships with a down payment of Rs. 21,000-50,000. The sources indicate that the new Honda Jazz could be launched.

Safety features may include dual airbags, ABS, BA and an electronic brake force distribution.

New Honda Jazz will be pitched against Hyundai Elite i20, Volkswagen Polo, Fiat Punto and Maruti Swift in the country when launched on 8 July at a price between Rupees 5.0 to 8.0 lakh.
